What we do
Girls who continue their education beyond secondary school are more likely to break cycles of poverty and create lasting change in their communities. Yet, access to higher education remains limited due to cost and lack of resources. URAAN supports girls in pursuing primary and secondary education through scholarships, mentorship, and academic guidance. Empowering them to gain skills, confidence, and independence, while opening doors to long-term opportunity and leadership.

Why Girls’ Education?
Education is not equally accessible and sadly girls are the ones left behind.
Pakistan has one of the largest populations of out-of-school children in the world, approximately 25–26 million children aged 5–16. Girls are disproportionately affected, particularly in low-income and rural communities, where early withdrawal from school is common due to financial pressure, cultural norms, and lack of infrastructure.
Girls are more likely to drop out of school because:
Families facing poverty prioritize boys education
Unsafe or inadequate school facilities discourage attendance
Early domestic responsibilities and social norms limit access to learning
